Dickinson College engaged Stegman+Associates to examine all aspects of student life including campus housing, recreational sports and athletics, and develop alterations and expansion to the campus center. The eight month study resulted in both broad and specific recommendations to enhance the student experience.
All existing residence halls analysis and planning for new halls was conducted within the context of a “neighborhood-based” housing strategy. Upper-year mentors will live in commodious renovated program houses and provide programming for younger neighbors. Most residence halls will receive some level of alteration in this long-range plan. Campus sports followed a similar analysis for program deficiencies to be upgraded through expansions to existing facilities and construction of new athletics buildings and field space.
The vision for a renewed campus center incorporates strategically placed additions, which give the building a new image while adding valuable program space to encourage meeting and interchange between all members of the campus community.
The project was carried out in collaboration with Sgarzi Associates.
