Loyola University, Maryland Lange Court Housing

The Lange Court housing project was the second phase of a multi-stage housing strategy developed for the College by Stegman + Associates in association with Hord, Complan Macht. Designed as senior class residences, the program includes 2, 4 and 6-person apartments in both floor through and townhouse configurations. Common room, study and laundry facilities paired with a social space enhance the community environment.

Two existing neo-Georgian structures form the north and south borders of the complex. New construction links these buildings to create an enclosed courtyard with green space and paved surfaces to support a variety of activities.

The design of the new building, while sympathetic to the scale and character of its existing neighbors, also takes clues from more modern structures immediately to the south. Materials include brick, stucco and aluminum curtain wall. The project, completed in Fall 1998, was estimated at and constructed for $3.9 million..
